Energy Northwest employees bring free science event to community

RICHLAND, WA – Energy Northwest’s Women in Nuclear chapter will host Kids Engineering Day at Curie STEM Elementary, 715 N. California, Pasco, Saturday, March 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The event includes 25 hands-on activities exploring the basic principles of math, science and engineering to elementary school-aged children. Activities will range from a rain cloud in a jar, measure pH of household items, pulley system and multiple robotics activities.

Approximately 300 children, along with their parents, attended the event last year.

This is the fifth year Energy Northwest’s WIN chapter has sponsored the event along with support from local companies including Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, AREVA, Washington River Protection Services, Polestar, and students from Delta, Hanford and Richland high schools.
