MILTON-FREEWATER, OR - Tim Kennedy is an Oregon native whose big business venture back in the 1980s is now a household name in the northwest. Tim was born in Pendleton, raised in Athena and graduated from Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. Soon after he got drafted into the Vietnam war, joined the Navy and then started working in Texas. Eventually he made his way back to the northwest, landing in Seattle where he created Tim's Cascade Chips.

Tim retired from the business in 2006 but is something of an ambassador for the company that bears his name. These days, he and his wife, Lori, run a winery in Milton-Freewater, Don Carlo Vineyards. Their wine has been featured on the hit TV show The Big Bang Theory.

Click the video to find out more about how the famous chips flavors came about and which is the creator's favorite.
