MSA announces Safety Leadership Award

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA – Mission Support Alliance (MSA) is proud to announce the recipient of their 2016 Kathryn A. Wheeler Safety Leadership Award – John Jeskey. John leads MSA’s Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) safety representatives and has been an employee and safety advocate at the Hanford Site for nearly 40 years.

John was involved in starting the HAMTC safety representative program over 20 years ago. His commitment to safety has created injury-free realities for many workers here at Hanford and his leadership has encouraged workers to take safe practices home and share them throughout the community. His dedication as a safety advocate is admired throughout MSA and across the Hanford Site.

The Kathryn A. Wheeler Safety Leadership Award is awarded each year and recognizes a member of the MSA workforce that demonstrates support of safety through worker engagement and activities that are collaborative, cooperative and proactive. The award highlights the importance of a safe work environment which is essential to a successful Hanford mission. It honors Kathryn A. Wheeler and her dedication to the safety of her coworkers. Kathryn was a long-time Hanford employee committed to safety.  Her passion for safety and compassion for her co-workers embodied MSA’s safety culture principles.  Kathryn passed away in 2012 and the annual award was established in her memory.
