Yakima PD arrest 16-year-old suspect involved in armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE:

YAKIMA, WA - A suspect in yesterday's early morning armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in Yakima is now behind bars. He was still wearing the distinctive clothes he was caught on surveillance video with at the time he was arrested.

The suspect is a 16-year-old boy, and because he's a minor, his name won't be released.

The teen who was caught is the one wearing the Michael Jordan pants with the number 23 on the left leg. Yesterday afternoon, officers spotted him walking down the street in East Yakima. Police recognized those Michael Jordan pants, and now he's facing First Degree Burglary charges.

Meanwhile, police still need your help tracking down the second suspect. If you know anything, call Yakima PD at 575-6200.

Several viewers contacted us thinking it's strange that two plastic bags were laid out on the counter but police tell me they don't believe that was out of the ordinary for that cashier.

YAKIMA, WA - Right now, Yakima Police are trying to identify two suspects they say were involved in an armed robbery. It happened Thursday on the 1500 block of Summitview Avenue.

One of the suspects was wearing a gray Barcelona soccer sweatshirt with red and yellow letters on it, black pants, and a red bandana over his face. The second suspect is wearing black pants with a red and white 23 on the left thigh and a black jacket.

YPD says this is the same 7/11 robbed back in February. If you know anything you are asked to call officers at (509) 576-6534.
