Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - On March 26th at about 6:30 a.m., Benton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call that a woman was found not breathing by her daughter.

Deputies responded to a home in the 203000 block of E. 13th Place in Kennewick for a 49-year-old woman who was found not breathing by her 22-year-old daughter. CPR instructions were given over the phone by a member of dispatch.

When deputies arrived, they found Merridy Katherine Lockerby on the floor of her bedroom, with CPR being given by 26-year-old Cody Moon, the boyfriend of one of her daughters. When medics from Kennewick Fire Department arrived, they found Lockerby had no pulse, was not breathing, and declared her deceased at 6:41 a.m.

Benton County detectives were requested to respond to the scene. Nothing suspicious was found and there were no apparent signs of trauma to the body. The Benton County Coroner's Office responded and took possession of the body. The investigation into the cause of death will be determined after toxicology results are returned from the Washington State Toxicology Laboratory.

This investigation is ongoing.
