YAKIMA, WA - The Seattle Seahawks mascot, Blitz and a Sea Gal will be at A.C. Davis High School in Yakima at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26th, to celebrate the implementation of Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP60), the dairy community's flagship school nutrition and physical activity wellness program.

Fuel Up to Play 60, a program sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Washington and Seattle Seahawks, encourages students to make healthier food choices, like incorporating dairy into their breakfast and getting more physical activity. FUTP60 has impacted more than 1,900 Washington schools and that number keeps rising.

The Yakima School District implemented Fuel Up to Play 60 in all 14 elementary schools. With this funding, each school is starting a smoothie program to ensure each student starts their day with a healthy breakfast. They will also receive new physical education equipment to incorporate an active lifestyle with their healthy eating habits.

Michelle Schilter, Chair of the Dairy Farmers of Washington Board of Directors sees value in the nutrition improvements schools participating in FUTP60 brings.

"Dairy farmers in Washington are proud to be a part of Fuel up to Play 60," Schilter said. "Dairy farmers produce delicious, healthful products that kids love. We are excited to celebrate the importance of dairy nutrition in students' lives in a fun and positive way that instills healthy eating habits."
