Orofino, Idaho - A teenager who went missing after prom night over the weekend, and was later found safely and charged as a runaway, has died in a car crash.

Kristian Perez, 17, was flown by Life Flight helicopter to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.  A nursing supervisor at the hospital confirmed the teen's death.

Nez Perce deputies say Perez lost control of his vehicle and rolled into an embankment.

He was reported missing on Saturday night but found at the home of 26 tear old Tyson Imel, who was later arrested. Hiding a runaway is a misdemeanor in Idaho. Imel was booked in jail, but posted bail.

The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
