2-23-18 UPDATE:

TOPPENISH, WA - The 20-year-old victim found dead with multiple gunshot wounds has been identified.

Toppenish PD confirmed that the homicide victim is Ricardo Daniel Barragan, and an investigation is underway.

Just before 10 p.m. last night, police found Barragan inside a white pickup with multiple gunshot wounds. The vehicle was found outside a house on North K Street and Lincoln Avenue with windows shattered. That truck does belong to Barragan's family.

Several residents in the area told officers they heard multiple gunshots and saw a car leaving the area immediately after.

"No suspect description," said Captain Dave Johnson with the Toppenish Police Department. "We do have a green Honda four-door leaving the scene, a dark green. That is what a couple witnesses said: 'I heard the shots and saw the vehicle but we're not sure if that's connected, but it was in the general area during the time of the shooting.'"

As of now, it is unsure if this incident is gang related or if Barragan himself had any gang ties.

If anyone has any information related to this case, they are encouraged to call the Toppenish Police Department at (509) 865-4355.
