Woman killed by train after driving onto the tracks

Posted: Updated:

FINLEY: A tragedy on the train tracks. Benton county Sheriffs Deputies are investigating after a woman's car was hit by a train...killing her at the scene.

It happened early this morning around 12:30 a.m on Sr. 397 and East Perkins Road in Finley.

Dan Korten with the Sheriffs office tell us the railroad crossing arms were down and the lights were flashing. They believe the woman tried to drive around the crossing arms when her car got stuck. The train then smashed into the woman's car...killing her.

Korten also says they believe alcohol may have been a factor since they found some inside the car. So far her name has not been released but we're told she was in her 20s.
