River of Fire Changes

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBIA PARK: If you haven't heard already, the Tri-Cities Water Follies is taking over the River of Fire festival -- for the Fourth of July.

Partnering with Hapo Community Credit Union, Water Follies is working on what they're calling the *River of Fire celebration.''*

Iit'll, of course, be a spectacular night that everyone has grown to love- but from a different location this year.

Water Follies Event Coordinator, Kathy Powell says they're calling it the sphere of danger. The fireworks will be launched from the pits, but rest assured Kathy says t'll be even bigger and better.

"We added another $10,000 dollars, so it's a $40,000 dollar show," said Kathy Powell.

If you're planning on launching your boat to watch the show, then you can do so at the East Columbia boat launch before 9 p.m. The show starts at 10 p.m, and the area surrounding the pits will be blocked off during the event.
