The Seattle Mariners bounced back after Tuesday's loss with a 3-0 shutout win over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. Edwin Diaz is now 15-15 on save opportunities on the road this season.

The Mariners began the scoring in the third inning when David Freitas hit his first career MLB home run and giving Seattle a 1-0 lead. Seattle would then score two more runs in the next inning when Nelson Cruz hit a two-run single, driving in Jean Segura and Mitch Haniger.

Former Gonzaga pitcher Marco Gonzales was dominant for the Mariners as he picked up his tenth win of the season. Gonzales gave up just two hits and kept the Angels off the scoreboard while also striking out four batters.

Gonzales has been dominant for the Mariners in the first half of the season, posting a 3.41 ERA (12th in AL) and 1.16 WHIP (13th in AL).

The Mariners will conclude their series with the Angels on Thursday before they begin their final series before the All-Star break against the Colorado Rockies on Friday.
