Actor Danny Trejo gives motivational talk to Yakima youth

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA - Actor Danny Trejo visited Yakima on Thursday to speak to local youth about staying motivated.

Danny Trejo may be recognized for his roles in movies like Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Machete, and Spy Kids... but he's more than just an actor. He owns several taco shops called Trejo's Tacos, and one donut shop in L.A. Aside from being an actor and business owner, Trejo is not afraid to share his past.

He admits he got into plenty of trouble at a young age, but that he was given the chance to restart his life and that is what he chooses to communicate with today's troubled youth.

"My message is drugs and alcohol will ruin your life," Trejo said. "Education is the key to anything you wanna do. Anything. Education is the key to anything you wanna do."

Trejo tells us he just celebrated being 50 years sober, a huge accomplishment that keeps him motivated.

He also says that he is still pursuing his acting career and has been working on several films that will soon hit the big screen.
