Toppenish four car pileup sends 6 people to the hospital

TOPPENISH: A four car pile-up sends six people to the hospital Saturday night near Toppenish.

The four car accident happened near Highway 97 off of Fort Rd. just West of Toppenish around 9 p.m.

Five people were taken to the Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital with injuries. We called to get an update on their conditions, and four of which have since been released and one is said to be in fair condition.

The sixth person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries and is still in hospital care.

The Washington State Department of Transportation blocked off Highway 97 for nearly 5 hours while Washington State Patrol handled the accident. The road was re-opened around 2 a.m.

Drugs or alcohol are said to be involved in this accident. We will update you as we learn more.
