10-16-18 UPDATE:

CLE ELUM, WA - Firefighters say the Suncadia Lodge fire appears to have started in the kitchen.

The extinguishing system stopped the fire inside of the kitchen where the main part of the fire was, but it made itself up to the roof above offices and the kitchen.

The lodge was 40 percent occupied at the time of the fire, and people were escorted to remove their belongings.

Firefighters don't believe it is suspicious in nature.

CLE ELEM, WA - An early Monday morning fire caused residents to evacuate the Suncadia Lodge in Cle Elum.

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the fire they believe started in the attic above lodge offices.

Guests were evacuated to the Inn at Suncadia. Firefighters completed a search of the building including all guest rooms with no one found inside.

Due to the the lodge's unique construction, firefighters worked tediously to remove the asphalt shingles from the roof to gain access to the seat of the fire.

Officials say the fire did not appear to have spread into the residential occupancy areas of the building.
