It's a happy reunion for Bill Brite and Dick French, not to mention Bill's dog Maggie. They first met last June. Dick was touring the Columbia with four men from the United Kingdom.
Bill and Maggie were fighting hypothermia, having floated downstream for two hours after their fishing boat capsized near Ringold. The water temperature was fifty-four degrees. The Pasco shoreline was one hundred yards away, a distance he could cover swimming with both hands. But he wasn't willing to let go. Dick and the four excited Brits spotted them near the Snyder street boat ramp in Richland.
Best of all, doctors at Kadlec informed bill about a heart condition he hadn't been aware of. He has his life, and his health, thanks to the men who saved him that day.
