Richard Alamos says road conditions on highway twenty-four were pretty bad that day in mid-December. Up ahead he saw a car start to lose control.Alamos jumped out of his car and onto the slippery highway, handed the uninjured victims blankets and lead them to safety.
But as he was doing so a trailer jackknifed and was headed straight for him.
Then the load of apples the truck was carrying started flying out and the truck
missed them by four feet – going sixty plus miles an hour.
Richards's quick thinking got many people out of their cars just in time and no one was seriously hurt.
