Walk Through of Infrastructure Problems at AC Davis High School
YAKIMA, Wa - The Yakima School District says that these improvements are long overdue... Especially at the high schools where many buildings are old and not safe.
Wednesday, they gave KNDO an all access pass to AC Davis High School to show us just how big the problem is becoming. The school's maintenance engineer pointed out cracks in the concrete, buildings that are not structurally sound and an old, inefficient boiler room.
There are also problems with the wiring in school buildings...
"As we step into the 21st century here, education and the whole world is moving toward computers. Our current buildings do not facilitate computers in the classroom. The wiring is outdated, not enough electrical to run computers in the classroom. It's a burden to our students," said Bon Stanley, assistant principal of AC Davis High School.
