YAKIMA, Wash. - His original name was K24, but Doctor Proctor has a much better ring to it. Doctor Proctor is a bull that will take part in the Professional Bull Riders USSTC Challenger Tour event to be held at the SunDome on Friday and Saturday.
Doctor Proctor earned his name when he butted heads with Shane Proctor. Someone was heard yelling Proctor needs a Doctor, and in the moment a nickname was born. Rod Chumley of Selah owns the bull, and will breed Doctor Proctor after this weekend's event.
So far no rider has been able to achieve a qualifying score on Doctor Proctor (a rider needs to ride a bull for 8 seconds to achieve a qualifying score).
Two riders cracked the seven second mark, but no rider has been able to break the eight second mark. The bull's owner says the average stay of a cowboy on Doctor Proctor is about 4 seconds.
