YAKIMA, Wash. - Preparations at a local orchard are already underway for the arrival of Mexico President Vicente Fox.
According to Governor Chris Gregoire's office, Fox's first stop in Yakima will be at G and G Orchards.
I had the opportunity to speak to the owners, but due to security reasons they can't confirm or deny that President Fox will visit their orchard.
But I did get the opportunity to ride around with one of the owners, Rene Garcia as he drove around his orchard.
Garcia and his wife, Carmen, have owned the orchard for 19 years and they're one of the only Hispanic packing plants in the state.
With more than 800 acres of cherry, apple and pear trees to check on, this ride could be a long one, but it's cut short. Garcia has to get back to his warehouse.
As we pull up to his warehouse, several members from the secret service and the city of Yakima stand on the parameter of Garcia's property scoping out the area--- possibly making preparations for a president like Vicente Fox.
