GLENWOOD, Wash. - A rafting trip on the Klickitat River turns deadly on Saturday afternoon.
Search crews called the search off on Saturday night but will resume their efforts Sunday morning. Kickitat Sheriffs say 19 rafters in four rafts were floating down the Kickitat River east of Glenwood when several went missing.
Seventeen were recovered but one is confirmed dead and one is missing.
Of those recovered, two have minor injuries. The rescue operation in the rugged area 74 miles northeast of Portland involved numerous agencies from both Washington and Oregon.
