Immigration reform group plans Mexican protest tomorrow in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. - An immigration reform group called "Protect Washington Now" plans to demonstrate in Yakima when Mexican President Vicente Fox arrives. Organizer Bob Baker of Mercer Island says he hopes to send a message to Fox that he's exploiting his own people.
Baker estimates more than 100 demonstrators might show up. Protect Washington NOW is sponsoring Initiative 946 that would ban public aid for illegal immigrants. It needs 224-thousand signatures by July seventh to make the November ballot.
