Migrant Workers React to President Fox's Speech

YAKIMA, Wash. - It's a day they will never forget. Today workers atG & GOrchards saidMexican President Vicente Fox talked about major issues affecting their lives in his speech. The president says he's working to better Mexico by providing access to health care and education.

Many migrant workers who attended the speech today in Yakima said they're hopeful they can one day return to Mexico. They say hearing how the president is working to better the country is promising. One migrant workers said he's proud to work in the United States, but hopes he can soon return to Mexico.

"I hope the condition of Mexico improves because right now as an immigrant there are a lot of negative things working against us," said migrant worker Jose Macharro.

Machorro said Fox talked about issues his family is really facing in Mexico. He said he hopes the country continues to change for the better.
