Donation Will Help Nursing Shortage

YAKIMA, Wash.  --  A Yakima couple has donated $70,000, that'll help the local nursing shortage.

Al and Pat DeAtley awarded the money to YVCC's nursing program.  It'll give an extra ten students a chance to earn their nursing degree, and help the school hire two more instructors.

The school currently has more than 200 qualified applicants, but there isn't room for them.

A nationwide nursing shortage is expected in the next few years.
