UNION GAP, Wash. - Hector Barrera is working in his yard today. He just bought some piping to build a fence, and plans on doing some yard work if he has time.
But unlike Barerra, some people have to go to work, like Bill Ekenbary, manager at Big R.
"Today is going to be busy, Ekenbary said. "A lot of folks come in to get a lot of fertilizer, push mowers, riders, that sort of thing."
But a push mower isn't on Dell Finnell's list, he's here with his girls shopping for a project.
"We came here to shop for the livestock, the horses," Finnell said. "The kids have a 4H project."
While Finnell and his family continue to shop, Ekenbary continues to work.
Memorial Day is a big day for Big R, Ekenbary said.
"It's one of the biggest weekends we have usually on a Friday and Saturday," Ekenbary said. "Sunday is kind of quiet and today, Monday, is going to be busy."
