Crews will begin to construct a four lane detour around the site in June. In July, crews will begin to stabilize the rock slopes using tension bolts and mesh fencing.
According to the Department of Transportation, this work is in response to Governor Chris Gregoire's directive that the department needs to assess all unstable slopes in the state following last falls rock slide.
