African American and Latinos Polled about the WASL

YAKIMA, Wash -  A statewide poll says most African-Americans and Latinos think that students should have to pass the WASL, or an equally challenging alternative to earn a high school diploma.

The non-profit organization 'Partnership for Learning' released results from the poll today.

And they found that 72% of Latinos and 62% of African-Americans think a diploma should only be awarded after passing the WASL, or an equal alternative.

And these numbers went up 86% for Latinos and 80% for African-Americans when respondents learned that statewide supports were in place for students.

250 African-Americans and 250 Latinos were polled statewide.
