Police Catch Alleged Prowler
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick police catch an alledged serial car prowler. Several residents lost valuable items before officers caught up with the man.
33-yr-old Lonie Tinsley of Grandview, Wa, just made the mistake of getting sloppy with his hobby.
Tuesday afternoon investigators knew what they were looking for when they searched Tinsley's car, but after just a few minutes they discovered he had a lot more items that didn't belong to him.
He allegedly pulled up into the Sportsman's Warehouse employee parking lot in broad day light. and starting removing items from an employee's car.
Workers called police and officers took him to jail. Police said there will be many more like Tinsley this summer and officers encourage car owners to stay on the defensive.
"Make sure you don't leave purses, wallets, anything valuable in plain sight so someone walking by that can see it and say I want that," said Officer Darrin Meiners, Kennewick Police Department.
Police said so far they can also link Tinsley to several stole credit cards taken out of a parked car at Applebees in Kennewick. But they have not linked him to other car prowls taking place this week.
