Man's Past May Lead to Clues in His Death

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Doug King may have been murdered Friday afternoon in his mobile home on South Date Street in Benton County.

King's family said years ago he was in an argument that turned deadly near Lewiston, Idaho. He served time in prison for murder in 1988.

King's half brother Russell Triplett is a person of interest in the case.  He was given a lie detector test and was interviewed by Benton County Sheriff's Detectives until early Saturday morning.  There is not enough evidence to arrest Triplett for the murder right now.

King's other half brother said King was badly beaten when he found him on Friday.  Sheriffs said they are not sure those injuries are the reason King died.

An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.  After that, sheriffs may be able to label the investigation as a murder.  If you have any information on this crime, sheriffs ask you to call 911 with your tips.
