Suspects break into the Columbia Park Golf Course
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Suspects broke into the Columbia Park Golf Course last night. The golf course manager said golf clubs, computers, and a digital camera were taken.
Over the past two months the golf course has been broken into four times.
Jeremy Simanton said, "Somebody came in and busted out this portion of our window and reached in and undid the dead bolt. Opened the door, got full access into our pro-shop. Then smart enough to go to our fuse box and hit it to shut down all the lights in the park."
Simanton said with the lights off it gave them more time to go through and ransack the club house.
Kennewick police ask anyone who might have seen people down at the golf course last night to contact them.
Kennewick Police Sergeant Scott Child said, "It's an isolated area down there, however it's an area that people can easily see. You can look right down from Canal Drive. Highway 240, you can clearly see it."
Simanton said that everything that had been replaced since that last break-in was stolen again.
He said the golf course is the only business down in the park, "it's so far away from the rest of the city. It's the kind of an area where there's not a lot down here, unless its bad, after that sun is going down."
Kennewick Police said increased patrols have been added.
