Fever Secures Home Playoff Game With 66-53 Win Over Beaumont

BEAUMONT, Tx - There's no place like home, especially when that's where you're playing a playoff football game.  The Fever had cinched up a wild-card playoff spot before Saturday's 66-53 win over the Beaumont Drillers, but now they can be assured they'll be playing their 1st-round game at the Toyota Center.

The game will be played on a Monday due to a Jehovah's Witness convention that had reserved the arena in advance.  Fever co-owner Terri Carr had to petition the league to get the change of date.

As for the game, the Fever used a high-scoring 2nd quarter to down the Drillers.  The Fever scored 30 points in that quarter.  The offense, under new quarterback James McNear was efficient averaging just under 5 yards per play.  McNear was 13-28 passing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Fever has a bye next weekend before facing the Billings Outlaws on the road Saturday, June 24th.
