Rossi Still Non-Commital on if He Plans to Run Again
YAKIMA, Wa - Dino Rossi says he won't decide on whether or not he'll make another run for governor until next year. The former state senator speaking to members of the Yakima County Chamber of Commerce at the Red Lion Gateway Hotel.
In that speech, Rossi blasted the budget for this year which he says will put Washington $700 million dollars in the hole by next year.
Right now, Rossi is working in the private sector in commercial real estate. He says a move back into public service will require a sit down with his family. "When I ran for governor, it was 14-16 hours a day, 6/7 days a week, 1200 speeches, 250 fundraisers, a 26 city announcement tour... and we had to raise $6.2 million in between. This is not a casual decision," says Rossi.
Dino Rossi lost the 2004 Governor's Election to Chris Gregoire. It was the closest election in US history. Gregoire won the second and final recount by 129 votes.
