Younger Meneely Named Kamiakin Hoops Coach

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kamiakin has a new Boys Basketball Coach, and it's a former rival. After starring at Kennewick in the late 90's, Lion's grad Brian Meneely is returning to the Tri-Cities to coach the Braves. The Kamiakin School Board approved Meneely's hire Wednesday night.

After playing for his father, Don Meneely, Brian went on to become Lewis Clark State College's all-time three point scorer. Last year, he coached at River Ridge High School in the Olympia area. He's only 25 years old. He replaces Dennis Rose, who resigned May 10.

The Kennewick School Board also announced Wednesday the promotion of Ryan McCallum to head coach of the Kamiakin Wrestling team.  McCallum was an assitant last year for Sid Sarver, who is throwing in the towel to focus soley on teaching.
