YAKIMA, Wash. - The Wal-Mart controversy continues. Yakima City Hearing Examiner, Gary Cuilier, will re-open the Wal-mart Hearing Monday night.
Cuilier will limit the discussion to two specific topics.
The first deals with what the noise standards will be for the proposed store and what kind of sound dampening devices would need to be installed.
The second deals with whether Wal-Mart should be considered a place of public assembly or a danger to public safety, which includes concerns over how the project could affect the Airport Safety Overlay, the safety zone that lies beyond the airport runway.
This hearing comes after the Yakima City Council decided to remand Cuilier's decision in April because they wanted more information regarding these two issues.
