New Scam Targets Medicare Users

PASCO, Wash. - A new phone scam is targeting seniors and Medicare users.

Thieves are offering new Medicare cards for a cash payment of $379.  Some are also offering to waive the fee if the person gives their bank information instead.

Medicare's own rules prohibit it from asking for a cash payment, or bank information, over the telephone.

If you have questions, Medicare asks you to call their hotline at 1-877-7-SAFERX.
