FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - Eyewitnesses said they spotted dirt cascading down a ravine outside of Richland today. The landslide tore through the area, but it doesn't appear anyone was hurt.
The eyewitnesses said water wasrunning over a ravine and the land became too saturated, causing the slide.
The slide isabout ten miles up river from Columbia Point in Richland and 16 miles west of Eltopia in Franklin County.
Franklin County sheriffs said they didn't go out to the area because no roadswere covered and there were noinjuries reported.
The landslide was so powerful it even crumbleda vehicle and damageda cherry orchard.
We could not reach the orchard owners for comment.
