Terry Troxell, former Columbia Cup winner, should be ready to race by the time the boats hit the water in the Tri-Cities, but he's sitting out a race or two at the start of the season.
Troxell has been cleared by doctors to race, but will take it easy. He had to pass a mandatory physical after recovering from a stroke during the off-season. He'll be in the pits, though, as J. Michael Kelly takes the helm of the U-13.
Kelly was at the helm of the U-2 for the past two seasons.
Fred Leland Update
Owner Fred Leland will not make the trip to Evansville. Fre's recovering from triple-bypass survery following a heart attack. He suffered the attack while working in the boat shop.
He reportedly told the crew to complete the test session whether he's there or not... before medics took him to the hospital.
