Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers Cardboard Boat Race

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick, WA - The first ever Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers Cardboard Boat Race is set for Tuesday July 4th in the Columbia River at Columbia Park in Kennewick starting at 10:00am.

It will be a 300-yard race on the Columbia River.  There will be multiple races during the day and will be followed with the three fastest boats in each category racing for the championship.  All races will be finished by 3:00pm so there is plenty of time to attend other July 4th celebrations and events.

In addition to the race there will be prizes for the People's Choice, Pride of the Fleet, Best Dressed Team, Best Team Spirit, and the Titanic Award for the most spectacular sinking.

Interested groups must register for this year's race by June 28th.  Non-profit organizations, youth and church groups thinking about taking part are encouraged to contact Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers.  There are several Adopt-A-Boat sponsors looking for groups or organizations to sponsor for this year's event.

For more information contact Mike Blatman at (509) 585-4212 or go to the Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers website at
