OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Local farmers may be missing out on a chance to buy replacement parts for their machinery, tax-free.
The State Department of Revenue says farmers need to file for a certificate, and bring it to the retailer prior to purchase. The legislature approved the sales tax exemption earlier this year.
30,000 farmers across the state may qualify. For more information on how to sign up, or to find out if you qualify, log on to Department of Revenue's web site.
