Free Electronics Recycling Law Takes Effect

OLYMPIA, Wash.  --  You'll have to hang onto your old computer parts for a while longer, but eventually you'll be able to recycle them in Washington for free.

The state's electronic-recycling law just went into effect.  Makers of computers, computer monitors and televisions will have to recycle those products for free by January 1, 2009.

You can call 1-800-recycle to find businesses that'll take your old electronics, or log on to the state's recycling web site.
