Wiser, Fever Prepare for NIFL Playoffs
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Fever are healthy, and are certainly hungry to prove that last year was no fluke. The 2006 NIFL Playoffs begin this weekend, while the defending champs have to wait until Monday to play their playoff game due to the Johava Witnesses Convention having already rented out the Toyota Center.
The Fever enter the playoffs as the four seed, and face Wyoming Monday night at 7:05 p.m. The Fever and Cavalry split their regular seaosn sereis, with each team winning at home. The winner on Monday advances to meet Billings. Even though the Fever are seeded low, the team is not low on confidence.
"I think it's our's to lose." says QB Joe Wiser. "We're the defending champions. We don't see any reason why we can't get back to that place this year. Our record is pretty much the same as it was last year, going into the same position. The only difference is we got a home playoff game. Last year we didn't have that until the end."
Wiser returns to the lineup just in time for the playoffs. He's missed a month after partially tearing his MCL in the Rapid City game June 4th. Continue to watch KNDU for all your Tri-Cities Fever coverage.
