Amazon Parrot Rescued in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. - A Pasco homeowner rescued Allie, an Amazon Parrot, from a 30 foot treetop, with the hired help of a Sierra Electric bucket truck.

Larry Pittman, the owner of the parrot, had to go up in the bucket truck himself to retrieve the bird.

It was spooked by a cell phone; Pittman's wife Gail says she had just altered the phone's ring tone.  The bird flew from its perch in their bedroom all the way outside the house and into the tree in their front yard.

Larry and his wife say they'll keep their front door shut the next time they let Allie out of her cage.
