SELAH, Wash. - Brandon Beyerlein has lived on Jaime Drive in Selah for about a year. He just found out that the gas line to his neighbor's truck was cut and the gas siphoned out.
Worried about his own vehicle, Beyerlein goes to check on it, but it's fine.
This incident surprises Beyerlein because he said things like that just don't happen in the neighborhood.
"Like I said, we've lived here for over a year and we really haven't had too many problems with crime," Beyerlein said. "I mean having someone's gas line cut is a surprise."
This is the first time Beyerlein has heard of something like this happening and his neighbors have never had problems in the past.
"They never seem to have any complaints to us about problems in the area, anything bad happening to them or anybody else on our block," Beyerlein said.
Now, Beyerlein is going to be more cautious and keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles.
"Probably keep an eye out for cars at night a little bit more and just make sure the neighborhood area is safe from any body strange wondering around or foreign cars parking on the street," he said.
