Design Camp Encourages Future Engineers

PASCO, Wash. - The Pasco School District and Columbia Basin College are again teaming up to sponsor a Design Camp aimed at encouraging middle school aged girls to study engineering.

The camp recently was recognized for its achievement in education by the Southwest Washington Association of School Administrators.

The campers designs have been used in the past as guidelines for construction of the Bulldog House, which is built by Pasco High students.

Design Camp receives $7,000 from CBC and $10,000 from the Pasco School District and charges each of its twenty students $25 for admisison.  The camp lasts two weeks.
