Police are searching for a man wanted in the murder of his wife.
PASCO, Wash. - A woman was found dead inside her Pasco home and police think her husband might be involved. Authorities are searching for 57-year old Steven Ronald Leighton.
Coworkers and family of Steve called police concerned when he did not show up for work. When officers went to his mobile home to check on him Friday they found his wife, Patricia dead on the bed.
Dean Little lives near the couple. He said, "It's a little scary, we all got kids and family. It's too close to home if you know what I mean."
Steve Leighton is missing along with Patricia's black pick up, a 22 revolver and the couple's dog.
An autopsy confirms Patricia died of a single gun shot to the back of her head and the Franklin County Coroner said a bullet matching her husband's gun was recovered from her body.
Police are not saying how long the victim has been dead but neighbors said they have not seen Patricia for a while.
Jill Marquart lives across the street. She said, "Oh my... It's been a few weeks."
Police said the two had martial problems and Patricia had recently moved out.
Marquart said, "I heard them fighting once in a while, but not out of the ordinary. We all fight."
Family members were reportedly concerned about Steve and said he threatened suicide.
Neighbors said he was a nice guy.
Little said, "We'd always see him but never saw nothing bad or anything."
Police continue to search for Steve Leighton. He is 57 years-old about five foot ten, 175 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair.
Police said Leighton may be driving a 1992 black GMC Sonoma with a Washington State license plate A19985Z. Anyone that sees Leighton or the black truck is asked to contact police.
