Celebrity Pigs Visit Tri-Cities
Kennewick, Wash. - No matter what's happening around the world, there always seems to be enough time for a little humor. And sometimes that "good laugh" comes at the expense of some willing member of the animal kingdom. Tuesday, it was pigs that took center stage. Their performance hall was none other than the Keewaydin Park Library, where a huge group of people showed up to watch .
Before we get right to the hard facts, you should know that this "group" is not just some barnyard act looking for a handout. Tuesday's extravaganza came courtesy of our porcine friends at Valentine's Performing Pigs, a nationally known act that's been seen on NBC's Today show, and the Late Show with David Letterman.
As the animals danced, the audience squealed. When the pigs jumped in the air, the kids sat at attention. And boy could those dancing pigs hoof it. You can only imagine what went on in the crowd when those big boys got up on their scooters. Yep. Let's put it this way: The folks on hand were happier than a pig in a poke.
Sadly, there was no football. The whole pigskin issue was surely far too controversial.
**Valentine's Performing Pigs will be doing shows throughout the area through Thursday. To learn more, go the the Mid-Columbia Library System Web site at www.mcl-lib.org.
