Search for Suspected Killer Continues
KENNEWICK, Wash. - It's been two years since a 16-year-old was gunned down in Kennewick. Now detectives need your help bringing his accused killer to justice.
The alert comes after police were tipped off that Luis Barragon may be in town. Barragon has been on the run from the law for over two years. Police suspect he pulled out a sawed off shot gun and killed Gonzalo Magaña on 5th and Raineer in on June 7, 2004.
Detectives said they learned fellow Norteño gang members in Livingston, California were hiding Barragon. Now he may be in the area or on his way back to Kennewick to see family and friends.
That's a thought that's sickening to the Magaña family.
"The pain because of the loss of our brother is devastating," said Vanessa Magaña.
They Magaña family said it's not fair an alleged killer is walking free and plead for anyone with information on Barragon's whereabouts to come forward.
Last year, detectives suspected James Moran who was wanted on two counts of murder was in town for boat race weekend. The Monday after the races, Moran shot and killed Linda and Danielle Moreno in their Kennewick home.
Detectives said they want to make sure to warn the community that Barragon might be in town before someone else is hurt.
