Police Find Body of Murder Suspect

TOUCHET, Wash. - Pasco police said they've found the body of Steven Leighton: the man accused of killing his wife late last week.

Officers searched for Leighton since they discovered the body of his wife last Friday. Officers wanted him for 2nd degree murder.

Police thought he may be driving a 1992 GMC black Sonoma pick-up truck.

Investigators received a tip that Leighton's truck was spotted in a remote camping site in the Blue Mountains near Touchet.

Officers teamed up with Columbia County Sheriffs Deputies and found his truck early Wednesday afternoon, with Leighton dead inside.

Right now investigators don't know the exact cause of death. Court documents show Leighton made suicidal threats in the past.   No word yet on when an autopsy will be performed.
