A Virus Outbreak In The Kittitas County
Ellensburg, Wash.,- A virus outbreak is spreading rapidly through Kittitas County. Kittitas Health Officials do not know the name, but they do know with-in three days, over one-hundred people have been infected with this virus.
"It's a disease we get on our hands; we put our hands in our mouths without doing good hand washing and that virus starts to replicate in our stomachs," said Mark Larson, Kittitas Health Officer.
According to Officials, the most common symptoms of the virus are: Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Larson said the virus is very contagious and can easily be spread from person to person through hand contact.
According to Larson, there are no medicines that will cure this virus. Larson said the best way to prevent it from spreading is to thoroughly wash your hands.
"If you wash your hands well; either, after you go to the bathroom, or before you change a diaper, and before you eat, it will really prevent this disease," said Larson.
The virus has circulated Kittitas County for three days now, but as far as the virus becoming an epidemic, Larson said there is nothing to worry about.
