Five-Year-Old Boy As Honorary Crew Chief At Atomic Cup

KENNEWICK, Wash - A five-year-old boy was named  "Honorary Crew Chief" for the UL-19 boat during the 2006 Atomic Cup. Nathan Finke has cystic fibrosis and the crew allowed him to hang out with the team in the pits all weekend.

Meanwhile, his mother, Amy Finke continued her mission to raise awareness about the disease.  This year, the Finke family and their friends have raised $17,000 for research.

"We're just not going to accept the alternative.  The medium age of survival now is 36.8 years old," Amy Finke said.

Nathan was born with Cystic Fibrosis.  It is a genetic disease.
