EAST VALLEY, Wash. - Three fires in East Valley are contained after a truck started the fires Tuesday Morning, said fire investigators.
Fire crews from across Yakima Valley were called to the scene just after 9:30 a.m., said Warren Gay, East Valley Fire Chief.
The fires started on St. Hilaire Road and fire crews were able to get the fire under control within 25 minutes, said Gay.
The fire started by a faulty piece of equipment on a truck that was driving northbound on Saint Hilaire Road.
"This is actually an electrical malfunction in an engine, Gay said. "The engine will shut off intermittently, but it's still pumping gas, raw gas into the exhaust, and then when it does fire it shoots a flame out the exhaust."
